Welcome to Fourth Grade!

Fourth grade is such an exciting year! It is a year of many changes and exciting opportunities for students to show what they know and showcase all the progress they have made in their education path so far. 

I appreciate you taking a moment to learn more about me. This will be my second year teaching, although I have worked in the realm of education for almost 14 years. Last year, I taught Third Grade here at Dutton Elementary. I took kind of an unusual path to get where I am today. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Davenport University in Business Administration. After working in the world of education though, I quickly realized that this is what I wanted to do. I love working with kids and seeing them grow and reach for their fullest potential. I look forward to those "light bulb" moments where the material we are learning finally clicks. Therefore, I went back to school and obtained a Master's Degree from Kansas State University in Elementary Education. It was the best decision I ever made. I absolutely could not have picked a better way to spend my days. I find joy and happiness coming to work each and every day. 

I am looking forward to helping your child grow and learn and accomplish things they never thought were possible. I cannot wait to work with you and involve you in our learning this year. I invite each of you to be an active participant in your child's education. I am excited partner with each of you and to see where this next year will take us!
